Apple Raisin Oatmeal

Hearty Breakfast on the go…..

For all those folks who are trying to make sure the kids eat a good breakfast before they get on that school bus and for those folks who might even like to have one themselves on crazy busy mornings, this is a treat.  You will need a slow cooker or a ricer, but with just a few steps before you go to bed, you can get up to a warm, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast already done and just waiting to be served.

Apple Raisin Oatmeal

In a slow cooker or a ricer, the night before, add the following:

2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 cups milk
2 cups oatmeal
3 cups water (if you like your oatmeal thicker, you can add less water)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
oatmeal

Stir once or twice.  Cover and turn on to cook overnight.  When you get up, you will have some delicious piping hot oatmeal that tastes a little like warm apple pie ready to enjoy!  Serves 6.
